Emma Corrigan has worked in the UK Charity sector for over 10 years. Her roles have included working on large national fundraising campaigns with Comic Relief; managing multiple grant programmes for a Community Foundation; and leading volunteering projects for 16 to 25 year olds. Corrigan now works as a Volunteer Coordinator for Shelter, a housing and homelessness charity in England and Scotland. In the past 12 months, she has worked with the organisation to improve and adapt its volunteering efforts and receive national accreditation. Corrigan is an active social media user, regularly contributing to the Thoughtful Thursdays volunteer manager’s chat on Twitter and participating in Volunteer Management Champions, the team behind VMmovement (both organizations were featured in an e-Volunteerism Voices feature in 2012). She is passionate about her own and other charity sector workers’ personal development, and recognises the importance of engaging with a wide variety of networks and tools in order to learn and share best practices.
