Reva Cooper began her professional life in Volunteer Management in 1984 as the founding Executive Director of the Volunteer Action Centre in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She believes strongly in the power of volunteerism to create strong, healthy, and vibrant communities, and in the power of skilled and well-supported Leaders of Volunteers to make this happen.
Cooper is the coordinator of the Volunteer Management Certificate Program at Conestoga College. She also provides a consulting practice where she assists a wide variety of “social profit,” public, and charitable clients to mobilize volunteers while being innovative and proactive in addressing trends that impact volunteerism. Cooper has trained and published in association with Volunteer Canada, the Ontario Community Support Association, and the Mennonite Central Committee, among others.
A committed volunteer herself, Cooper has served as a Board member of PAVR-O (Professional Administrators of Volunteer Resources – Ontario) where she is currently a Mentor Committee Advisor; works as a member of the Ontario Network of the Canada Volunteerism Initiative; serves on the Provincial Volunteerism Working Group; and participates in local volunteer causes that are close to her heart.
